What Is Reiki?
Usui Reiki is a Japanese healing and spiritual practice, rediscovered by Mikao Usui in 1914. Reiki follows the five principles using the phase ‘Just for today’ to inspire the practitioner to remain grounded and in the present:
Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not get angry.
Just for today, I will be honest.
Just for today, I will count my blessings.
Just for today, I will give love and show respect for every living being.
Reiki is a non invasive energy healing system using universal energy force, which is gentle, calming, rejuvenating and grounding. It restores and balances the individuals 7 energy systems known as the chakras, which can be the first areas where imbalances show, long before we feel any physical or emotional symptoms. Also, any area where energy has become depleted, stagnant or over active. Reiki can assist the body to clear toxins, relieve pain and speed up healing. It is safe for all ages, pets, plants and to energise food and water. Reiki can also be used to send distance healing to people and places. Reiki is not a replacement for medical advice or medical treatment.
What happens during a Reiki Healing session:
The client remains fully clothed on the bench, blankets provided for warmth and comfort. Gentle and relaxing music or meditation will be played in the background. I start by checking the alignment of the chakras and I am then guided to areas of the body that require healing. Crystals can be incorporated into a session either chosen by yourself, or ones I am guided to use, to bring your energy system into balance. Crystals gently align the chakras, bring relaxation, clarity and grounding to a session.
Angel Reiki
New branches of Reiki have been developed over the years, including Angel Reiki, channelled by Kevin Core in 2002 and 2003. As a Angel Reiki practitioner I channel healing from the Angelic Kingdom of light. It offers the same healing benefits as Usui Reiki, and I find it enormously gentle and peaceful.
Animal Reiki
As with ourselves sometimes our animals need some relaxation and healing. Reiki can help ease your animals aches and pains, promote healing after operations, rescue cases where an animal may feel anxious. As reiki is a complementary therapy, it is not a substitute for veterinary advice or treatment, if you have any concerns regarding your animal please seek veterinary advice in the first instance.
